Support for Schools

Every child deserves the opportunity to make, create and enjoy music at school. Sussex Music Hub brings together the expertise of Create Music and West Sussex Music to support schools across Sussex to provide a diverse and high-quality music education, with multiple progression pathways, for all young people.

Working in partnership with schools, we provide practical support, professional development, networking opportunities and bespoke approaches to help develop thriving music curricula and musical cultures. Through close collaboration with music teachers, Lead Schools and wider partners, we respond to local needs and ensure schools can access the support they need to help young people flourish through music.

The scope of this strategy includes all state-funded primary, secondary and special schools, as well as alternative provision settings. In 2025/26, we engaged with 96% of schools across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex.
